  I was recommended this place by a cab driver in Reading and he did warn me about the decor in the place. It's called Punjabi Grill and the minute you walk in it looks like a kebab shop as does the menu. Curry, Pizza and Burgers in the same shop.
  
  I usually stay miles away from places like this but in this instance I thought I would give it a go. And am I glad I did. I ordered a Palak Paneer, Sheek Kebab and two Tandoori Rotis and the total bill including a bottle of water was £6.20....wow :-))
  
  The food arrived hot, Rotis were freshly made and they also gave me a side salad with mint yogurt to go with the meal. The palak paneer was divine and took me back to my days travelling India and eating at roadside eateries called Dhabas. The Sheek kebab was also tasty albeit a bit dry. All in all a fabulous meal and the place was full of Indian and Pakistanis and like me they were enjoying themselves immensely. One guy at another table was tapping his lamb shank bone to get every bit of marrow and sauce out of it. Another guy licked clean his Biryani and another the same with his pizza. All I can assume is that the other dishes were as equally good as mine.
  
  Definitely coming back here for a cheap feed when in Reading. Don't let the looks or the menu fool you ;-)) This place is not located in the best part of town and it is all about the food and nothing more. Drinks list is minimal water or fizzy drinks. Wish they had Lassi on the menu :-(

  Fantastic food - curries are like you cooked at home. Freshly made nan and roti - just perfect.
  
  I have nothing good to say about this place until few weeks ago. Arrived very hungry and ordered 2 dishes with few nans. Mix grill and curry -  arrived with few very small pieces of meat. I asked why it has only few pieces - one of the employee (female) - she was arrogant said all curry come with 8 pieces of meat and there are 8 pieces in yours - do I need to say more - I don't know who she is but I won't be going to back there again.
  
  I am going to give this restaurant just 1 star until she is gone.

  This place isn't fancy, it isn't white cloth dining... It's weeknight take away that is just really tasty. It takes about 15 minutes for takeaway but it's worth it! I got chicken vindaloo with garlic Nan and rice.  The total was about 10 gbp and was large enough for two meal! Portions are hearty it is family owned.  I think this will be my go to place for Indian in Reading!

  Outstanding! Everything is made from scratch to order. The samosa's, curry and naan were all cooked perfectly. Everything tasted homemade and absolutely fresh.
  
  This restaurant's decor is very basic, but don't let this deter you. Sit and enjoy some of the best Indian food I've ever tasted!
